Barry is a professor in the Department of Computer Science at University College Cork. He is a founding Director of the Insight Centre for Data Analytics, one of the world’s largest centres focused on data analytics with almost 500 researchers and staff. Professor O’Sullivan also serves as Deputy President of the European Artificial Intelligence Association, the world’s largest AI association with over 4500 members. He was elected a Fellow of the association in 2012, an honour recognising the top 3% of its members. He is the only Irish scientist to give an invited keynote at the annual conference of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence in the US.
